i am drinking coffee at love cafe -- a lounging cafe, a retro cafe, a lovely cafe -- in my dreams, up north, where the snow is quiet, falling in inches above my ankles. and there he stands, a texturized beauty i cannot let go of. a bright smile ear to ear, lively voice. in my dreams he lives in my village. i sigh and realize he is real and he has a life, a lover. why is the beauty so obvious then?
the windows illuminate as night falls deeply, a lovely vintage moon like a photographed memory. i don't know how to react when i see you. we are driving from the airport to the sea. we sail across the seas; i look east, west, north, south, until i blend into sea and sea blends into me. the seas are forged into love, and we are cautious not to taint it.
and how do we sail? with a ship, you see; a ship of artfully sculpted air, fashioned with a logic beyond my logic. the ship is our legs, the ship is our hands, our eyes, our feet. the city lights deep down beneath us were once beautiful to me-- blurred city noise, neon vibrancy making my eyes crossed in awe. i'm a small town girl, what more is there to say?
my heart wants to surrender to desire. swimming is like a purgatory which i must or mustn't pursue: swimming down to the city beneath the sea beneath the ship beneath the heart of me.
